At Triangle CrossFit, we believe in helping children enhance their current level of physical fitness and maximize their future athletic potential. Our youth programs are well-rounded, helping children develop in multiple areas of physical fitness. We recognize the teaching needs of children are different from those of adults and we deliver our progams in such a manner that helps children not only learn but have lots of fun while doing so. The TCF staff enjoys helping children discover that they are fit, strong, and capable and it is our hope every child participating in one of our programs acquires a lifelong appreciation for fitness and health.
Triangle CrossFit Kids
Triangle CrossFit Kids combines gymnastics, body weight calisthenics, and weightlifting elements to develop capacity across ten general physical skills: cardio-respiratory endurance, power, strength, stamina, speed, agility, flexibility, balance, accuracy, and coordination. Additional elements that encourage bone density development, cross body movements and exercises that involve the vestibular system are also incorporated. The elements are combined to keep children engaged and entertained, while teaching them proper movement technique and creating a broad athletic foundation.
TCF Kids classes are available to children between the ages of 5 and 13 years. Classes are offered in blocks of 4-6 sessions and advanced regsitration is required. Each class lasts approximately an hour and includes a warm-up, skill work, a workout, and games. Fees for children of current members at TCF are $12 per class. The fee for non-members is $15 per class.
What about youth over the age of 13?
Children 14 years of age and older may participate in Triangle CrossFit's adult classes. In order to do so, they must display the emotional and intellectual maturity required to participate successfully in classes alongside adults. In addition, he/she must have completed TCF's Elements training or aged up from being a regular participant in TCF Kids classes. Children 14-15 years must participate with a parent. Youth 16 years and older may participate by themselves.
